Creating the Contents Page

Here I will show the stages I went through in order to create the Contents Page of my Music Magazine in PhotoShop:

Firstly, I decided that the magazine's logo should be featured throughout the magazine so that the reader can see the magazine's particular brand identity. I have used the same font, "Vador" for the month of the magazine so that the audience knows that there is a particular theme featured throughout. I am not happy with the font of "Contents" so I feel this needs to be edited so that it flows with the rest of the page. I have inserted several pictures which have been edited to black and white, I believe makes the text on the page stand out to the audience as the font is displayed in bright colours. I chose a different font for the "Win tickets..." text as the purpose of this information is to catch the reader's attention into entering this competition.

This was my first draft for the contents page, however, there were some issues that I still had with this draft, such as, the title font for "contents" does not suit the indie/rock genre. Additionally, the colour of the writing at the bottom of the page is orange along with the rest of the writing on this page. This was not ideal as this writing was created as a competition, which the primary aim was to advertise a competition therefore it was required for this section of the page to stand out attracting the attention of the audience.

This is the final product of the contents page, I believe that the language and colours used adopts the particular unique codes and conventions for an Indie type of Music magazine.
