Below are all the various types of technology I have learnt to use and developped skills in, whilst producing my media product:
As technology in society is increasing at a rapid speed, all of my research, development and production of my music magazine is displayed on a blog. I had never used a blog before and did not know the purpose or how to use one, therefore this was a new experience for me. After completing my project on Blogger, I feel confident in using it for all purposes. I believe it is a successful, multi-modal program for this type of project, allowing text, images, links and videos to be embedded. I would definitely consider using Blogspot again as it also helped to organise my work.
iPhoto & iMovie
Again, I had never used both of these programs before, primarily as I do not have an Apple Mac, however, I have enjoyed developing skills in editing both images and videos. Without both programs, I feel my magazine and research would not look particularly professional as the effects give a sophisticated look.
PhotoShop
Before creating this magazine, I had only had very little experience using this software. Despite this, PhotoShop has been the main tool in creating the media product. It has been used not only to edit images and insert text, but also as the basis for each page of the magazine. PhotoShop has allowed me to insert pictures onto a page and edit images, insert text and position it accordingly. Consequently, using this program has been a fundamental part of the process as it definitely would not have looked as professional without the use of the software. At first, I had some difficulty adapting to the various tools, such as "layers", however, I soon grasped the concept of PhotoShop.
SLR Canon Camera
Previous to this media project, I had never used an "SLR Canon Camera", but I definitely would use one again. The quality of picture that the camera produces is of a very high standard giving a professional-looking image. Additionally, the various effects also add to the originality and quality, allowing you to zoom in and out and also the different modes add to the realism. By using this camera, as opposed to a normal camera, it has without a doubt improved the quality of the magazine.
Throughout the research and production, I used various programs such as, "Prezi" which at first, I did not like at all as it was difficult to use and I felt it did not present my research as well as other programs. However, I have used "Prezi" to answer an evaluation question and I believe it worked well, displaying the information in an easy to read format.
